Yeah, it sounds a bit like an oxymoron. But the original The Last Exorcism was actually a fun, creepy-good time. And now the trailer for it’s sequel — with Ashley Bell reprising her role as the poor unfortunate possess-ee — has come to town.
Here’s the info from CBS Films:
Continuing where the first film left off, Nell Sweetzer (Ashley Bell) is found terrified and alone in rural Louisiana. Back in the relative safety of New Orleans, Nell realizes that she can’t remember entire portions of the previous months only that she is the last surviving member of her family. Just as Nell begins the difficult process of starting a new life, the evil force that once possessed her is back with other, unimaginably horrific plans that mean her last exorcism was just the beginning.
Even just with the trailer to go on, it looks like this will be head and shoulders better than The Exorcist 2: The Heretic. Then again, that’s not a hard thing to accomplish, so this new film should have a relatively easy time of it.
The Last Exorcism Part 2 is slated for a March 1, 2013 release.
