Poor kid. Fame gets to everyone. One day you’re peeing into a mop bucket, the next you’re getting sent downtown by the po-po for drag racing.
Honestly? I’m hoping this is a hiccup for the guy. He’s 19 for chrissakes. And though I’ve never, ever been a “Belieber” (shudder: nobody wants that. Belieber me), I don’t wish him any harm. And if I think about it, I can’t root for Amanda Bynes, Britney Spears, RDJ and many other folks who have been In The Dark Place and not root for Bieber too. Not that I condone his current behavior. I’m just hoping for a “snapping out of it” moment. Soon.
So, where’s this going? I got a press release about this thang about 20 minutes ago. Figured I’d share, and put up my two cents while I’m at it.
By now everyone has probably heard that a John Lennon – like deportation could be possible. So there’s nothing new here, but putting an actual lawyer with that though is kinda nice.
But what I’d really like to see? Somebody in Bieber’s circle actually giving a damn and occasionally saying no. Seriously; his dad was one of the people helping with the drag racing? And people wonder why stars sometimes take the crazy train.
I’d share the entire release, but after these few paragraphs it sounds like a Caruso infomercial. Not to hate, but there’s only so much that’s needed in this particular context.

PIX11 Morning Show Discusses Justin Bieber Arrest with Sports Entertainment Lawyer Anthony R. Caruso
Caruso interviewed to discuss Justin Bieber DUI arrest in Miami, Florida
NEW YORK, Jan. 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Attorney Anthony R. Caruso, Esq. appeared on the Morning Show for PIX Channel 11 TV in New York City to offer his legal insight into the recent Justin Bieber DUI arrest.
Bieber was arrested in the early morning hours of Thursday, January 23 in Miami, Florida for driving under the influence, resisting arrest and other charges. It is also rumored that he is facing deportation since he is not a U.S. citizen. Mr. Caruso commented that “he made several mistakes in addition to the violations. We advise our clients to never admit to anything at the scene and always cooperate with the police when stopped.” Caruso further advised that “jail time is a possibility with these charges. If Justin Bieber is found guilty of aggravated assault or a crime of moral turpitude, then deportation could also be a likely scenario.”
Anthony Caruso is uniquely positioned to comment on such a high profile case due to his extensive experience in entertainment controversies. As a prominent sports, media, & entertainment attorney based in the New York City / New Jersey area, he previously gained international attention in his representation of Miss New Jersey 2007 regarding a blackmail situation over Internet photos. Mr. Caruso provided all legal counseling and negotiations, strategy, media supervision, and crisis management in that case.
