Baltimore Screening Pass-palooza: DEADPOOL!

deadpool onesheetYou know him.  You love him.  You’ve fantasized about eating chimichangas on a bear skin rug dressed like him. (Just me?)  Now, c’mon let’s catch Deadpool the movie before everyone else.  Who’s with me?  What, you need a synopsis?  Synopsis!

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Gotta say that the marketing campaign for the Merc With A Mouth’s first solo feature film (let us not speak of X-Men Origins…) is really sweet.  And kudos to Ryan Reynolds for going all-in not only with the film, but the marketing and the fannishness.

Oh, and one more thing; this is a RATED R movie.  No, little kid who can’t handle the ultra-gore, there will be no PG-13 version.  It’s not for you, or at least not right now.  Catch it on HBO when nobody’s looking, like any other self-respecting underage kid. (Of course, if you’re a kid who can handle it and you’re parents are down?  Who am I to judge how awesome that is?)  Onward, to passes! What: ADMIT TWO passes for the Baltimore area screening of Deadpool!
