Since I have the mental maturity (and attention span) of a five-year-old, as soon as I saw the title of this short film, I stopped everything and rushed to put this post up. Trouser Snake. Yep. And it’s a horror movie. Of course it is. What I can’t figure out is why this title hadn’t been snapped up before (okay, it actually has been.)
I gotta admit I’m loving the old-school exploitation-film vibe of the poster. And that they call the film a “comedic send-up to ’50s creature features” piques my interest. Writer/Director Alex DiVincenzo has been mostly on the production end of film, but with this film (and his work on Horror Icon: Inside Michael’s Mask with Tony Moran), I’m thinking he may be an up-and-comer for the indie horror genre. Let’s hope so. Hey, this short got screened at Boston’s Underground Film Fest. Can a screening of Trouser Snake at Spooky Fest be far behind? Get it, trouser snake, behind? Body parts…oh fine.
Here’s the quick teaser for Trouser Snake, which makes sense as the film itself is a short. Read on for more info after the jump!
Trouser Snake poster & teaser unleashedHorror-comedy short to premiere on 3/24 at Boston Underground Film Fest
A night of necking at Lovers’ Lane gets the shaft when a monster rears its ugly head in Trouser Snake. Grimbridge Productions is proud to unleash the official poster and teaser trailer for the short film.
The film will have its world premiere at the prestigious Boston Underground Film Festival on March 24 at 5:30pm at the Brattle Theatre in Cambridge, MA. It will be playing as part a curated showcase of locally-produced shorts from up-and-coming filmmakers.
Trouser Snake is directed by Alex DiVincenzo, whose previous effort, The Horrors of AutoCorrect, was distributed by Eli Roth’s Crypt TV. DiVincenzo co-wrote the script with composer James Cilano.
Alexander Gauthier, Jamie Lyn Bagley, Michael Thurber, William DeCoff, Monica Saviolakis, Morgan Walsh and Jordan Pacheco star in this comedic send-up to ‘50s creature features.
“I’m so excited to be returning to BUFF for the Trouser Snake premiere,” comments DiVincenzo. “It’s my favorite film fest, and I’m very grateful to have my silly short playing alongside so many respectable movies.”
The 18th annual Boston Underground Film Festival takes place March 23-27. Along with Trouser Snake, the line-up includes Chasing Banksy, The Lure, Kill Your Friends, Trash Fire, Antibirth, Curtain, a live performance of Stand By for Tape Back-up, and a 35mm screening of Wendigo presented by Larry Fessenden, among others.
Trouser Snake will debut online in the spring. Visit Grimbridge Productions on Facebook for updates.
