Still in a musical mood after this afternoon’s passes? Well I’ve got the cure; more passes! I’ve got passes for the Baltimore screening of Sing, and it looks like it’s gonna be a lot of fun. Synopsis!
Set in a world like ours but entirely inhabited by animals, Sing stars Buster Moon (McConaughey), a dapper koala who presides over a once-grand theater that has fallen on hard times. Buster is an eternal—some might even say delusional—optimist who loves his theater above all and will do anything to preserve it. Now faced with the crumbling of his life’s ambition, he has one final chance to restore his fading jewel to its former glory by producing the world’s greatest singing competition.
Five lead contestants emerge: Mike (MacFarlane), a mouse who croons as smoothly as he cons; Meena (Kelly), a timid teenage elephant with an enormous case of stage fright; Rosita (Witherspoon), an overtaxed mother run ragged tending a litter of 25 piglets; Johnny (Egerton), a young gangster gorilla looking to break free of his family’s felonies; and Ash (Johansson), a punk-rock porcupine struggling to shed her arrogant boyfriend and go solo. Each arrives under Buster’s marquee believing that this is their shot to change the course of their life. And as Buster coaches each of his contestants closer and closer to the grand finale, he starts to learn that maybe the theater isn’t the only thing that is in need of saving.

Let’s get ready to sing, shall we? Because I’ve got passes to La La Land, a new musical that’s coming to theaters just in time for 
I know what you’re thinking. A new remake of The Mummy? And…no. This time it’s a new spin on the classic Universal Monsters (yeah, there’s two…), and if this 15 second sneak peek at the new Tom Cruise helmed The Mummy is any indication, it’s gonna be a wild ride.
This year has been terrific for biopics and docu-dramas. But do you have room for one more? Because I have screening passes for the Baltimore area screening of Jackie, about the former first lady, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. Synopsis!

Tis the season to be shoppin’! Yeah; am I the only one who looks at Black Friday and thinks “what convention tickets are on discount”? Well, there’s one that’s putting that discount info out to fans. 
“Is that a monkey?”
Nutshell: A well crafted film about an important moment in history. Ruth Negga and Joel Edgerton deliver quiet, powerful performances. Writer/Director Jeff Nichols focuses on the people that made the case, rather than the case itself. The result is a powerful, engrossing story. Grade: A
